Project idea: a fediverse platform for sharing gpx tracks - would be ideal for runners or other sports people that don't want to create 50 accounts on various centralised websites with closed off gpx data pools that often don't allow full direct access to the data and only provide very limited UX.

Anyone knows whether it's at all possible to use any kind of voice command recognition engine on # without recordings being sent through Google's servers? I think at least this is the case for the Google assistant.

Is there maybe an open source alternative?

Birne Helene reshared this.

Certainly. Nevertheless, FB and others overcame the difficulties, and with the sources being open...

sounds promising 😀 and weird. when you say sources, which sources do you mean? FBs / googles source code? or the training data used to generate the models?

No, the C++ source code. (Or was it C?)

Restarting Piwigo Android App Development
Development of the #piwigo #Android app has declined in the last year or so. Currently the app isn't even in the app store anymore, significantly limiting piwigos usefulness to some - including me.

It's too bad, as I think Piwigo is a very promising candidate for self hosted photo galleries with some interesting features.

Using piwigos web interface for uploading pictures from a phone is a pain though.

Now, some are trying to get development going again and they are looking for #contributors:
