Project idea: a fediverse platform for sharing gpx tracks - would be ideal for runners or other sports people that don't want to create 50 accounts on various centralised websites with closed off gpx data pools that often don't allow full direct access to the data and only provide very limited UX.

I currently have a Garmin vivomove HR #watch, and am generally very pleased as it is light and simple enough to wear all day long, has great battery life, and provides me with basic logs of my #runs. I originally bought it to not need to bring my phone. However, whenever I want to create a gpx track of the run I need to bring my phone anyways because the watch doesn't have #GPS. What do other #runners do? Should I buy a more expensive watch that has GPS but is probably impractical to wear all day, and thus will only be for runs, or should I stick with my current combo of watch+phone?
